Garnier Kids Range

As Nylas hair grows and becomes more thicker and curlier, i am always on the look for products which can work with her hair. Her hair isn't like mine, so it's all a new learning game all over again.

With little knowledge on kids hair ranges, i have been experimenting with my own hair products in her hair. One brand which i loved the results of a lot, was the Garnier Banana Hair food

I have been using this in my own hair on and off for a while and it had amazing results in both of our hairs.

However, a small print i missed when chatting with the brand on instagram, is it is says not suitable for young children and babies. This is due to not being tested on them however, and Ny had no negative side effects or anything to the product, and so we will continue to use this.

The lovely team over at Garnier were kind enough to send me the Ultimate Blends Kids 2 in 1 range which i wasn't even aware of!

This range features 3 different products which are a 2 in 1 shampoo and detangler.

  • - Cherry and Soft Almond
  • - Apricot and Cotton Flower
  • - Rice Cream and Oat Milk
Each one has a recognisable character which is great for getting little kids attracted to the product. Ariel, Simba and Elsa can be found on the front of the bottles.

I don't think there was one i didn't like the smell of. The cherry is beautiful and not too overpowering, the rice cream smells super fresh and the apricot was my personal favourite with a nice light fruity scent which again wasn't overpowering in anyway.

Ny went straight for the red one and was excited about the new products.

They create a really thick lather which made washing her hair fun for her as she liked all the bubbles it created. Being a 2 in 1 means it was all i needed in the bath. Her hair was left really manageable when it came to combing, and didn't feel dried out when rinsing. There really were no tears on wash day with these.

Overall i really did enjoy these products and i hope to see more kids products come out from them to try.

Look out for the range over in supermarkets near you.

To all the mamas before me...

To all the mamas before me, i am sorry.  I will hold my hands up, and admit that i was judgmental. It's easy to do when you have no children of your own. I had no idea.  There were so many things that i thought i would never do. Things i said i would never do. And ways i thought i would parent. And here i am, being a hypocrite.  I can sit now and laugh at how delusional i was. I really had no clue!  So mamas, i apologize for the judgements. Here are the top 5 (out of about 100) things i said i would never allow.  "My Child won't have screen time. " Now laugh along with me. It's easy to imagine that this is a reality, but sometimes you.just.need.a.minute.  Don't get me wro...

Blackpool: Our first holiday

We just got back from an amazing little family break in blackpool.  In April, we took mini for a birthday trip out to  Chester Zoo . Unfortunately she was suffering from a chest infection, and it was badly raining and so didn't get to enjoy the experience as much as we had hoped.  I had been eager to get her to the zoo again, and this time we chose to visit  Blackpool Zoo .  The tickets cost us £55 for the 3 of us (Nyla was free), including a meal deal each. We found this to be really good value for money. They had cheeseburger, beef burger, chicken burger and pizza meal deals. They also had double options. Unfortunately, what they didn't mention, was the extra charge. It cost 80p to add a slice of cheese to the burger. I paid it, but when i saw the actual size of the slice of cheese i was more than disappointed. The food tasted ok, but it was a bit of a robbery the cost of something so simple added.  The zoo was very clean and there was a lot ...

Another Break

I have a confession .... i really did forget about this blog.  2 year olds really do take over your whole life. I haven't had a minute to myself, and so i forgot all about this blog.  I am back now however, now that she has started to play independently again and wants to spend time in her room away from me, mama gets a chance to breathe.  So what have you missed? Probably a lot. I can't believe i haven't posted since February!  Rather than ramble here i will be doing some life update posts including where she is at with her own bedroom, some learning activities we have been doing, and some of the fantastic days out that we have had since my last post. Mini turned 2 and we also had to say goodbye to our pet cat Skittle. It has been a rollercoaster!  I really will be trying to get more content on here, but in case you missed me i have still be as present as ever on our instagram (lifeof_nyla).  xx
